Aim and Scope of Session

Professor Ahmad Sharieh had two bachelor degrees: one in Mathematics and one in Computer Sciences. He had master degree in Computer Science and High Diploma in Teaching in Higher Education. He had PhD in Computer and Information Sciences from Florida State University 1991. Sharieh worked as Assistant Professor in Fort Valley College (1991-1992 USA. He worked as Associate Professor with Amman Arab University for Graduate Studies (AAUGS) (2003-2004 Jordan) and The University of Jordan (1992-2016 Jordan). He is a professor of Computer and Information Sciences at UJ. He held several administration and academic positions: Chairman of Computer Science Department at UJ, Assistant Dean of Research Deanship at UJ, Chairman of Computer Science Department at AAUGS, Chairman of Central Tender Committee at UJ, Dean of King Abdullah II School for Information Technology (KASIT) at UJ, and Director of University Development Affairs at UJ, Dean (Executive President) of Sur University College/ Oman 2008-2015. Prof. Sharieh initiated (as Coordinator or member) several academic and training programs: KASIT, Master degree in Computer Science, Master degree in Computer Information Systems, High Diploma in Information and Communication Technology in Education, E-government Diploma, Information Technology College at Amran University (Yemen), PhD in Computer Science, and E-competence center at UJ, bachelor in Mechanical and Architecture Engineering; and Master of MBA at SUC. He published more than 60 scientific research articles in journals and conferences, and authored and prepared thirteen books. He gained grant for eight research projects from UJ and Europe. He developed several software systems such as: Teaching Sign Language, e-learning Modeling and Simulation, and Online (Automated) Exams. He is on the editorial board of several journals and conferences and a referee of several others. His research areas are in: Distributing Systems, Parallel Processing, Pattern Recognition, Software Engineering, Wire/Wireless Communication, Modeling and Simulation, and Cloud Computing.

She is senior member of IEEE & IACSIT, fellow of RSS, ISCA, IETE & SSARSC, member of IEEE GSRS & WS, ACM, IET , IAENG & Gyancity Research Labs and life member of CSI, ISTE, ISCA, IFERP, IUPRAI and ISRS. Aim and Scope of Session

Image Processing and Soft Computing techniques are integrated approach to sovle many real world problems. Image Processing encompasses research areas related to the generation, processing and communication of visual information. The focus of the session is the coverage of the latest research results in image and video processing, including image generation and display, enhancement and restoration, segmentation, colour and texture analysis, coding and communication, implementations and architectures as well as innovative applications. The relevance of integrating the merits of different soft computing tools for designing efficient image processing and analysis systems is also covered. She is basically a science graduate and completed her Masters of Computer Application from Government Engineering College Aurangabad in 2000. She Qualified SET examination in 2004. She has been awarded with Ph.D (2006) in the subject of Computer Science with the study area in Software Reliability. She also completed M.Tech by research (Network Security) from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad. Along with teaching she also has more than 9 years of Academic administration experience. Her interest in administration inclined her to pursue MBA with specialization in Human Resource Management. She has more than 60 research article published in journals and conference proceedings and has authored two books. She has completed minor research project in the area of GIS.     Dr. Syed Feroz Shah is working as a Professor in the Department of Basic Sciences and Related Studies, Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro, Sindh, Pakistan. He holds a PhD degree in Applied Mathematics from the Beijing Institute of Technology, Beijing, P. R. China. The main focus of his research is related with Mathematical Applications in engineering and Computational Fluid Dynamics. He remained Visiting Researcher (July’07-Oct’07), Computational Fluid Dynamics Group, School of Computer Science, Swansea University, UK. He has multi-discipline/cross disciplined ability in teaching and he has have been teaching various subjects of Engineering Mathematics, like Applied Calculus, Linear Algebra, Analytical Geometry, Differential Equations, Laplace Transforms, Complex Variables, Numerical Analysis with Computer Applications and Computer Programming to undergraduate students. He is teaching Computational Fluid Dynamics and Finite Element Analysis to the Post Graduate students of this university. Research guidance to the Post graduate students of M.Phil in Applied Mathematics. He is focal person of postgraduate program in Applied Mathematics and member of Advanced Studies and Research board of this University.

    Dr. Pardeep Kumar is currently working as a Chairman and Associate Professor at the Computer Systems Engineering Department, Quaide-Awam University of Engineering, Science & Technology (QUEST) Nawabshah, Pakistan. Additionally, he is also working as a Director Continuing Education and Coordinator Students Attendance Cell at QUEST Nawabshah. He completed his PhD from Berlin, Germany in 2012. Earlier he did his Bachelor of Engineering (B. E.) in Computer Systems and Master of Engineering (M. E.) in Communication Systems and Networks from Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Jamshoro, Pakistan in 2001 and 2004 respectively. Dr. Kumar joined QUEST in January, 2004 and later was granted PhD scholarship from HEC Pakistan and DAAD Germany. During his PhD research, he designed and developed a novel MAC protocol for wireless sensor networks. Dr. Kumar has worked with several European Union projects such as WISEBED, DES-Testbed, FeuerWhere & Building Commissioning (ZESAN project). His research interests are in the fields of wireless communication, wireless sensor networks, IEEE 802.15.4/ZigBee, Internet of Things (IoT) & Future Internet, communication protocols, energy and delay bound networks, etc. Dr. Kumar has authored more than 40 research publications in reputed journals and conferences around the world including a book chapter. Currently he is supervising several PhD and Master students in wireless communication and networking domain. He has been the organizer, paper presenter, session chair, reviewer and technical program committee member for several conferences and workshops around the world.     Imaginative concepts and ideas that were ingredients to sci-fi movies few years back are quickly becoming a reality. The Internet of Things (IoT), an integral part of the Future Internet, is a vision that entails connectivity among different physical and virtual objects in order to understand how the life would change when things, homes and cities become smart. In this sense, IoT counsels individuals, public and private organizations, research and educational institutes about how the ‘smart things’ can be active participants in business, information and social processes by interacting with themselves and with the environment. Thus ‘smart things’ are expected to exchange/process the sensed data, while reacting autonomously to the events with or without any human intervention and self-configuring themselves. He holds a PhD degree in Computer Science & Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, INDIA. He carries with him an opulent 15+ years of academic experience with leading universities including Gurukul Kangri University, Graphic Era University, DIT University, Sharda University, Amity University and IIT-Roorkee. The main focus of his research is related with parallel and distributed computing. He has organized two IEEE international conferences, NGCT-2015 and NGCT-2016 as Conference Chair and several national workshops. He has also served as guest editors for the various Scopus indexed journals like IJCNDS, IJIRR and IJITWE from Inderscience and IGI publishers. He has been the keynote speakers in many conferences and workshops including IEEE R10 Mini POCO-2016. He has published more than 30 research articles in reputed international journals and conferences. He has also handled two international consultancy projects with University of Technologi Petronas (Malaysia) and King Abdul Aziz University (Saudi Arabia). He has been the expert member of several AICTE affiliation/ inspection committee. He has been the session chairs at many IEEE international conferences including ICCCA-2015, ICACCA-2016, Confluence-2017 etc, He is also serving as Vice-President for the Next Generation Computing Technology Society, INDIA. He is the member of IEEE.

    Parkash Lohana is working as an associate professor in the department of Computer Science at Usman Institute of Technology (UIT), Karachi. He holds a Master degree in Computer Science from the Faculty of Engineering and Sciences, University of Detroit Mercy Michigan USA. The main focus of his research is related with innovation in science and technology. Parkash’s professional interests are Electrical Power Engineering, Engineering Management, Engineering Education, Information Systems, Software Engineering, and Human Computer Interaction. He has presented his research papers in local as well as international conferences held in Pakistan under Higher Education Commission and Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC). Mr. Lohana has published two of his articles in IEEE Engineering and Technology Management Review in June and September 2015 issues respectively.
